In 1966 U.S. inventors, George Kloosterhouse and Edwin Johanknecht created the first correction fluid formula that could be used on photostatic copying paper, under the name of Wite-Out WO-1 Erasing Liquid.
From 1966 to 1981, the company only marketed water-based products and, in 1981, a fast-drying solvent fluid was introduced.
In 1990, WITE-OUT revolutionized the correction products industry by introducing For Everything® Correction Fluid. This fluid was effective for all applications - typerwritten, handwritten, copied or faxed.
In 1996, WITE-OUT® correction pen was introduced, followed in 1997 by the WITE-OUT® correction tape.
WITE-OUT® is the number two correction products brand in North America.
WITE-OUT® has been part of the BIC Group and one of its correction products trademarks since June 1992.
