Chairman of the Board
On March 1, 2006, Bruno Bich became non-executive Chairman and remains Chairman of the Board of the BIC Group. He had served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since June 1993, when he succeeded Company founder, Marcel Bich.
Prior to his nomination as BIC Group Chairman, Bruno Bich served for nine years as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BIC Corporation, the Company's North American subsidiary. He led the development of this subsidiary which now represents more than 40% of the Group's sales.
Rising through the ranks in the U.S. business, he held several key corporate positions including Vice President of Sales and Marketing and National Sales Manager.
Bruno Bich began his career by working for five years in the corporate finance department of White Weld & Company, the investment banking firm, before joining BIC. Bruno Bich holds a bachelor's degrees in marketing and finance from New York University.
Chief Executive Officer
On March 1, 2006, Mario Guevara became Chief Executive Officer of the BIC Group. He had held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since March 2004.
Previously, he served as President of BIC Corporation and General Manager of BIC North and South America since 2001. Prior to that, he was BIC South America Continent Director, as well as General Manager of BIC Mexico and Central America. Mr. Guevara's appointment to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer came 11 years after joining BIC Mexico in 1992 as Finance Director.
Before joining BIC, he was Vice President of Finance for the French company, Moulinex in Mexico. He also worked for Condumex, a large industrial conglomerate in Mexico.
Mr. Guevara holds an MBA from IPADE, a Mexico-based institution closely affiliated with Harvard Business School and holds his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the National University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City.
