ENVIRONMENTAL AND HYGIENE EDUCATION
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
NGO Name: Solidarités International
Pillar: Environmental Education
Funding Period: 2018-2020
Conflicts, epidemics and natural disasters prevent local populations from accessing basic needs including water, food and shelter.
Each year, different projects teach families about efficient water consumption and hygienic water storage practices in order to avoid problems with water contamination.
In 2018, during the Rohingya Crisis, Solidarités International distributed hygiene and dignity kits and set-up of training courses for refugees on good hygiene practices.
In 2019, the organization helped those affected by the Idai Cyclone in Mozambique by distributing hygiene and shelter kits, facilitated drinking water and energy supply distribution and rehabilitated the area's mini drinking water network.
In 2020, during the South Sudan's conflicts in Raja County, Solidarités International provided access to safe and dignified water and sanitation infrastructures, and piloted sanitation activities.
